Seattle Goodwill Industries is looking for a new Process Improvement Analyst experienced in analyzing processes (asking "why?", "how?"), utilizing Lean tools and implementing Kaizen philosophy through change management initiatives.

A successful Process Improvement Analyst is inquisitive, people focused, analytical, a problem seeker and solver, energized by change and improvement, comfortable with conflict, a teacher/mentor/coach, and possesses the ability to coordinate and facilitate teams.

Job Summary

Assists the Process Improvement Manager in analyzing business and operating procedures to devise the most efficient methods of accomplishing the work. Works with all levels of staff to research, plan and implement new methods. Monitors progress of ongoing programs and processes.

 

Essential Functions:

Perform analyses including but not limited to time studies, work sampling, process audits and financial reviews in support of department projects.

Evaluate processes and operations, including workflow and layout design, and recommend improvements to increase operating efficiencies.

Coordinate process improvement initiatives/projects.

Support implementation strategies by educating and training staff regarding process changes.

Assist with Kaizen event planning, participate in each event and perform post-event audits.

Demonstrate safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: Retail, logistics and/or production experience preferred. Management experience preferred. Experience in presenting concepts concisely to various audiences.

Specific Skills/Knowledge/Licenses: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Ability to learn new software as needed and expected for the job. Ability to perform financial and/or mathematical analyses.

 

Essential Physical Abilities:

Must be able to: lift, and carry for short distances, 40-50 lbs. Must be able to: perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists and arms, without pain or loss of function. Able to travel across a wide variety of surfaces including, but not limited to, ramps, stairs, and uneven terrain. Able to use a standard telephone and wireless audio communication system; sit or stand for moderately long periods of time, communicate clearly and effectively with a wide variety of people, including those with limited English skills. Must be able to maintain reliable attendance.

Working Conditions:

Various working environments to include: office, retail, production and warehouse. Moderate noise level, dust. Must have reliable transportation as this position requires frequent travel to store locations, offsite meetings and events. Must be able to work non-standard hours if required.
