Job Summary

Responsible for all E-commerce departments, along with book operations. The E-commerce Assistant Manager is also responsible for achieving department and organizational objectives via exceptional customer service.

Essential Functions:

Identify and determine value appropriate merchandise for E-commerce auctions.

Able to describe books in book-industry terminology and grade the condition of books according to industry standards

Effectively performs daily listings of books, and list auctions with pictures and description of merchandise to bring maximum value.

Deliver and promote internal/external good customer service, and follow up on non-paying customers and refunds

Track E-commerce auction sales to budget and by store.

Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports.

Maintain department's ratings at least 98% in books and auctions.

Monitor the workflow and daily task planning for the entire team including the shippers.

Manage supplies' inventory.

Prepare monthly updates/Newsletters identifying items needed for internal auctions

Visit stores to train staff in retail and production on E-commerce procedures and book pre-scanning process.

Maintain a clean and orderly processing area.

Upholds safe work practices in support of a safety culture through awareness and observation; train and educate employees of safety requirements; reports any potential hazards or accidents.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: High School or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: 2-3 years of previous management experience preferably with a book retail or E-commerce business.

Specific Skills/Knowledge/Licenses: Able to read, write, and speak English clearly and fluently.

Excellent computer and Internet skills, including rapid & accurate keyboarding. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Ability to provide good customer service with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Superior organizing and administrative skills. Ability to motivate people, instill accountability and achieve results.

 

Essential Physical Abilities:

Lifting and carrying 35-50 pounds; Developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers;

Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; climbing ladders; standing for long periods of time;

Able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain). Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide variety of people, including those with limited English skills.

Working Conditions:

Warehouse and office environment, moderate noise level, exposure to dust. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. This position requires some travel to store locations, offsite meetings and events.
