Job Summary

Assists the Purchasing/Reception Manager in the daily purchasing functions provide support to Seattle Goodwill operations and departmental teams in the ordering of goods and services. Process orders and resolve location delivery issues. Works at the New Goods Warehouse 50% of the time assisting as needed.

 

Essential Functions:

Develop relationships with our internal customers.

Prepare, authorize and process eRequester orders.

Follow up on missing orders, damaged orders, replacement orders and cancelled shipments.

Assist with eRequester system and item catalog updates.

Train internal customers on the eRequester System.

Provide coverage for the Reception Desk as needed.

Assists the New Goods Team with order creation and processing.  

Demonstrates safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents.

Perform any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred or relevant experience may be substituted.

Experience: Minimum 6 months retail experience preferred. General knowledge of purchasing system and products. Warehouse experience a plus.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to present concepts to various audiences.

Ability to work with the internal customer to source special order products.

Must have strong customer service skills.

Specific Skills/Knowledge/Licenses: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Ability to learn new software as needed and expected for the job. Ability to perform financial and/or mathematical analyses. Ability to prioritize.

Able to accept responsibility and work independently.

 

Essential Physical Abilities:

Must be able to: lift, and carry for short distances, 40-50 lbs. Must be able to: perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists and arms, without pain or loss of function. Able to travel across a wide variety of surfaces including, but not limited to, ramps, stairs, and uneven terrain. Able to use a standard telephone and wireless audio communication system; sit or stand for moderately long periods of time, communicate clearly and effectively with a wide variety of people, including those with limited English skills. Must be able to maintain reliable attendance.

Working Conditions:

Various working environments to include: office, retail, production and warehouse. Moderate noise level, dust. Must have reliable transportation as this position requires moderate travel to store locations, offsite meetings and events. Must be able to work non-standard hours if required; ability to maintain a flexible work schedule.
